Herenboeren is a Dutch network of cooperative farms owned by their members, who hire a professional farmer to grow vegetables, fruit, eggs and meat for them on nature-inclusive farms. There are 26 Herenboerderijen with dozens more in development and over 9,000 members, each household making a one-off investment and a monthly contribution and collecting a weekly share of the harvest.
The first farm started in Boxtel, North Brabant, founded by Geert van der Veer (NOS put this at about ten years before May 2024). Recent news includes an autumn newsletter in October 2026, a call for an agricultural board member in September 2026, and the Herenboerenschool at Land van Weert, where children learn outdoors on the farm.
