Agency of Women
Pairing skilled allies with women-led initiatives for social change
- Nourish
- Community and Voice
Agency of Women is a community-driven network for women's social leadership, with a base in Sydney and an address in New York. It pairs people who have skills to offer with women-led initiatives, working in small collaborative pods on short missions. A pilot in Vanuatu helped grassroots women form the Mitingar Women and Girls Association, now a registered national body.
Agency of Women describes itself as a community of practice for sustainability change-agents. Its work runs through a Bureau with three parts: an Ally Bureau, a Talent Bureau where short collaborative projects happen, and a Funding Bureau focused on financing social-purpose work. Volunteers join as "Special Agents" and work alongside women leaders. The Vanuatu pilot is intended as a model that other communities can adapt.
