Since 2000
Brookfarm is a family-owned food business on a regenerative macadamia farm in the Byron Bay hinterland, making muesli, granola, porridge and snacks in a Northern Rivers bakehouse. The Brook family restored a badly eroded farm, planting over 4,000 macadamia trees and more than 45,000 native trees to help restore the Big Scrub rainforest.
The Brook family bought the farm in 1989 and sold their first products, macadamia mueslis, at market in 2000. While clearing weeds they found a small patch of untouched rainforest, which led to large-scale native replanting. Brookfarm products are now sold across Australia and in more than 16 countries. The family also helped start We, the many, a business that commits half its profits to climate positive projects.
