Since 1971
The Ecology Action Centre is a membership-based environmental organisation in Halifax, on Mi'kma'ki, the unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq, working across Nova Scotia since 1971. It works on the built environment, coasts and water, energy and climate, food, marine life, transport, wilderness, and politics and policy.
Its projects have included Kelp Kurious, supporting a kelp sector, the Atlantic Offshore Wind Coalition, food security work, the Pop-up Bike Hub, safe cycling videos and sustainable seafood, along with campaigns on gold mining, uranium and provincial parks. People can become members, volunteer after an orientation, join campaigns and come to events.
