Eucalypt Australia
Inspiring Australians to protect and celebrate eucalypts
- Living World
Since 2007
Eucalypt Australia is the operating name of the Bjarne K Dahl Trust, based in East Melbourne and set up in 2007 through a bequest from Bjarne Klaus Dahl. It works to help Australians protect and celebrate eucalypts through conservation, education, research and sustainable cultivation.
The trust funds research through grants and fellowships, runs a Knowledge Hub about eucalypts, and leads National Eucalypt Day each year, including the Eucalypt of the Year, the Bjarne K Dahl Medal, an events calendar and a photo competition. Its priorities cover the ecological, cultural and economic value of eucalypts, climate-ready cultivation, and conserving species, habitats and genetic diversity, working in partnership with communities, researchers and industry.
