Since 1994
A membership-based NGO in Shisong, near Kumbo in Cameroon's Bamenda Highlands, founded in 1994. It plants trees and restores forest, teaches environmental education in schools, and trains local people in sustainable farming and new ways to earn a living.
Green Care Association was registered as an association in 1998. Its work includes mushroom growing, beekeeping, yam seed multiplication, birdwatching and ecotourism, a resource and training centre, and the Kov Ndzeen eco-village. Sales of tree seedlings, honey and mushrooms help fund the work. It welcomes international volunteers and won a Green Hero Award from BTCV in 2008.
