Since 2011
Loomio is open-source decision-making software made by a worker-owned cooperative in Aotearoa New Zealand, started in 2011. It helps groups share context, discuss, make decisions and keep a clear record, without needing to meet. It is used by cooperatives, boards, nonprofits, open-source communities and member-led movements around the world.
Loomio Cooperative Limited is owned by the people who do the work. Its code is published on GitHub, so groups can inspect it, improve it, adapt it or host it themselves, or use hosted plans in the USA, EU or Australia and New Zealand. Users include the World Resources Institute, OpenSSL and NYC-DSA.
