Pachamama Alliance

A global community and nonprofit based in San Francisco that works in partnership with Indigenous peoples of the Sacred Headwaters region of the Amazon in Ecuador and Peru. It brings together Indigenous wisdom and modern knowledge to protect the rainforest and shift the worldview driving environmental harm.

Pachamama Alliance grew from a 1995 trip by Bill and Lynne Twist to the Amazon at the invitation of Achuar leaders, who asked for help protecting their land and culture. Today it works through Fundación Pachamama in Ecuador and runs programs such as online courses, Kinship Circles, a youth initiative, the Catalyst Leadership Institute and journeys to the Amazon and Andes.
