- Community and Voice
Plan C is a charity run by Northern Rivers residents that builds community resilience and regeneration. It trains and mentors local people to prepare for and respond to disasters, and runs youth disaster resilience programs in the region and beyond.
Its Community Carers and Responders network gave volunteers five days of free training in self-care, disaster resilience, community building, emergency communications, and food, water and energy security, plus first aid and psychological first aid, then mentored them to lead local projects. Other work includes the Surviving Disasters youth program, disaster resilience training with the Hunter Community Alliance, and the Northern Rivers Community Resilience Alliance.
