Positive Change for Marine Life is a Byron Bay based marine conservation nonprofit that helps communities take action for the ocean. Founded by Karl Goodsell, it runs programs in Australia, India and the Solomon Islands, including Waste to Wealth, Rewilding our Floodplains and Fishing for Change.
The organisation began in Japan, where it worked from 2010 to 2016, and has run campaigns in seven countries. Waste to Wealth builds local waste collection, composting and repurposing services that create jobs, in Kerala, Gizo and Australia. Rewilding our Floodplains restores river and floodplain country on the Brunswick River, at Conondale and in Kerala. Fishing for Change supports community-led fisheries management. In Australia it also runs Butt Free Australia and River Warriors kayak clean-ups and marine debris surveys.
