Réseau des Initiatives Agroécologiques au Maroc (RIAM)
Morocco's network of agroecological farmers, with participatory guarantees and farmer markets
Shine Sunlight to follow their work and see how it grows.
Works nationally
RIAM brings together agroecological farms and initiatives across Morocco. It set up a participatory guarantee system (SPG) that gives eaters a trusted label at lower cost than organic certification, and helped launch Souk el Fellah farmer markets in Mohammedia, Marrakech, Rabat and Casablanca with short supply chains of no more than one intermediary.
Since June 2025 it has led a project with FiBL (to May 2028) forming farmer PGS groups in Aklim, Jerrada and southern Oujda in the Eastern Region, and in April 2026 its president Rachida Mehdioui convened an agroecology debate at SIAM in Meknès.
