The registered native title body corporate for the Yaegl People, around the Clarence River in northern NSW. It holds Yaegl native title rights and interests, recognised in determinations in 2015 and 2017, and works to care for Country and look after Yaegl culture and heritage.
The 2015 native title determination covered land and waters including the Clarence River estuary from Harwood to the river mouth at Yamba. The corporation describes a 21-year native title journey that has led to employment on Country, cultural leadership and economic opportunity for its community. It has also led the return of Yaegl ancestors' remains to rest on Country, working with Heritage NSW.
