AVP NSW is part of a network of independent, volunteer-run groups offering experiential workshops in self-awareness, nonviolent relationships and transforming conflict. It works in community settings, prisons, schools (Help Increase the Peace) and interfaith communities, and since 2012 has partnered with STARTTS on workshops with refugees and torture and trauma survivors in Sydney and Newcastle.

The first NSW workshop was held in 1992 at the Devonshire Street Quaker Meeting House in Sydney. Workshops in October and November 2026 include Auburn, Newcastle, online and a Persian-language taster in Bella Vista.
