Since 1982
Greening Australia is an independent national not-for-profit that restores landscapes and protects biodiversity across Australia. Established in 1982, it works from city suburbs to remote rural areas through programs such as Great Southern Landscapes, Reef Aid and Nature in Cities.
Greening Australia was set up in 1982, the International Year of the Tree, in response to tree decline across farming country. Its work includes large-scale restoration, nature-based solutions, native seed services, climate-ready restoration and Thriving on Country. Related enterprises include Canopy (environmental credits), Nindethana (native seed supply) and SEEDX (seed production areas). Landholders can register to work with them.
