Justiça nos Trilhos works with communities along the Carajás mining and railway corridor in Maranhão and Pará through popular education, legal advocacy and community communication. In Piquiá de Baixo, a neighbourhood choked by pig iron smelters for decades, it has supported community air and noise monitoring, including the youth-led 'O ar que respiro' report.
Founded in 2007. In February 2026 it asked prosecutors and public defenders to suspend demolitions in Piquiá de Baixo and release the remediation plan; in July 2026 it hosted the XV ERAM gathering in Marabá. It received the Gwynne Skinner Human Rights Prize in 2025.
