Kakadu Kitchen is a 100% Indigenous-owned bush food business in the Northern Territory, founded by Bininj man Ben Tyler. It champions healthy, local bush tucker through catering, market food, native food showcases and drinks made with Kakadu ingredients.
Kakadu Kitchen grew from a garden Ben started for his mother around 2015. Its work has included a canned, alcohol-free native peach bellini made with an-marabula (Kakadu plum), Indigenous-branded spring water for Kakadu hotels, and bush tucker showcases at events around Australia. Ben says he sought cultural permission from Elders for his bush tucker work, and he has plans for a bush tucker vertical farm in Kakadu.
