Las Cañadas is a cooperative in Huatusco, Veracruz, with 22 members who decide in assembly, that practises and teaches permaculture and agroecology. Its members conserve 265 hectares of cloud forest, farm without agrochemicals, process milk, meat, bamboo, medicinal plants and seeds, and run courses in permaculture design, bioconstruction, ecotechnologies and regenerative ranching, with scholarships for campesinos.
The site says the group planted 50,000 native trees in 1995 and became a cooperative in 2006. Its 2026 calendar ran from agroecology apprenticeships and a PDC in spring to a second PDC on 14–27 Nov 2026 and a 6th Las Cañadas Festival in April 2026.
