Nipe Fagio works across Dar es Salaam and East Africa on zero waste models, community clean-ups, plastic brand audits and a Zero Waste Academy. At Simu 2000 Market in Ubungo it runs a project with the municipal council that keeps about 75 tonnes of organic waste a month out of landfill as animal feed and compost, trained more than 200 traders and created jobs for young people.
