Since 2012
An international not-for-profit, founded in Australia in 2012, that builds open source tools for fair, local and transparent food systems. Its online marketplace software is used by more than 2,500 farmers, producers and community food hubs, with local Open Food Network sites in around 15 countries.
The network is made up of locally led affiliates working under a shared global pledge, with governance and finance overseen by the Open Food Foundation. Alongside its software commons it runs research and projects such as Discover Regenerative and a Food Subsidy Pilot in Australia, Procurement for Good and Food Data Collaboration in the UK, the Data Food Consortium in France and Women Leading Change in Canada.
