Since 2012

A not-for-profit, open-source online platform that lets farmers, producers, food hubs and community food enterprises sell directly to their communities. Started in Melbourne in 2012 by Kirsten Larsen and Serenity Hill, it is free to start a shop, with a small fee only once sales pass $500 a month.

The Australian Open Food Network is part of a global open-source project built on principles of openness, transparency, diversity and networking. Producers and groups can open an online shop, create a listing or set up a group directory, and the site links to Discover Regenerative, a directory of regenerative farmers connected to their shops. Its code is shared on GitHub.
