Since 2016
Transition Maribyrnong is a Transition group in Melbourne's inner west that started the Melbourne Repair Cafe, a free monthly event where volunteer fixers repair people's broken items. It launched in February 2016 as one of the first five repair cafes in Australia and helped other communities set up their own.
By 2017 the Melbourne Repair Cafe had more than 130 volunteer fixers, meeting first in cafes and community centres and then at the Yarraville Community Centre. Current details are unclear: the cafe's old website is no longer active.
