WeForestEarth

WeForest is a non-profit based in Brussels that restores and conserves forests at the landscape level for people, nature and climate. Founded in 2009 by Bill Liao and Marie-Noelle Keijzer, it works with local communities, with field offices mainly in Zambia and Ethiopia.

WeForest reports more than 118 million trees grown, 100,000 hectares under restoration and conservation, and 45,000 households engaged in alternative livelihoods. Its programmes include the Eastern Afromontane biodiversity hotspot in East Africa, Miombo regeneration in southern Africa, wildlife corridors in South America, blue carbon, and the Great Green Wall in West Africa. It partners with businesses and philanthropists to fund this work.
