Activate Tree Planting is a volunteer-run organisation in Western Australia that hosts tree planting festivals. Its festivals combine music, art, food and Indigenous culture with large community plantings to revegetate degraded farmland and connect rural and city people. At its 2022 festival on a 65-hectare property at Nembudding in the Wheatbelt, about 200 volunteers planted 100,000 native seedlings.
Activate works in peri-urban and regional landscapes, mostly in the Wheatbelt, with plantings on Ballardong Noongar country and earlier events at places such as Gabbin and Narrogin. Festivals usually run over several days with camping, live music and shared meals, and volunteers help with both planting and kitchen crews. It has also run family events in Perth, including a children's tree planting festival. It is a registered charity, run entirely by volunteers, with sponsors including Trillion Trees.
