Bellbunya is an eco-community and education site on 40 acres at Belli Park, in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland of Queensland, owned by a not-for-profit association. It grows food with permaculture and syntropic methods, runs garden days, Permaculture Design Courses and health retreats, and hosts workshops and events in its hall.
The community began living together on the land in 2008 to explore re-localised, sustainable living. The property has a hall, commercial kitchen, dining room and accommodation that groups can hire for workshops, retreats and conferences. Bellbunya says more than 15,000 native trees have been planted on the land over the last 20 years, alongside permaculture food gardens, syntropic gardens and wildlife corridors. Visitors are welcome and volunteering (including WWOOFing) is available.
