Bush Medijina is a 100% Indigenous owned, women-led skincare business on Groote Eylandt, homeland of the Anindilyakwa people. Its Warnumamalya and Wurramangadirra team hand-make balms, scrubs, soaps and other products from locally harvested native botanicals, using recipes passed down from mothers, aunties and grandmothers. All profits go back into community.
Bush Medijina began in a small shed with the goals of supporting Anindilyakwa women and sharing culture with others. Its mission is to create jobs for Anindilyakwa women, and it reinvests its profits in local initiatives that support health and wellbeing. Products are sold online and through a shop in Cairns.
