CAMP Alatoo is a Bishkek-based public foundation working with rural mountain communities across Kyrgyzstan on pasture, water and land management, wildlife conservation, energy efficiency and environmental education. In 2026 it supported villagers in Osh, Batken and Naryn regions to build pasture infrastructure and trained moderators in pasture management that respects ecological corridors. It helped set up Baiboosun, Kyrgyzstan's first community-run local protected area.
Grew out of the Central Asian Mountain Partnership programme funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. Its approach is community-led: pasture committees, community rangers and local teachers do the work themselves. In May 2026 its walnut-forest co-management work, environmental education manual and the Baiboosun community reserve were published as case studies on PANORAMA Solutions, and its deputy director represented Kyrgyzstan at the Global Gathering of Pastoralist Women in Kathmandu.
