FUCVAM is the Uruguayan federation of mutual-aid housing cooperatives, helping new cooperatives form, find land and build their homes together. It runs a land bank in Maldonado through which ten cooperatives will reach urbanised land, a solidarity discount card at more than 30 businesses, and cultural and mental health programmes for members. It also advocates on housing policy and teaches its model in an international course.
