The Trust has owned and managed the Isle of Eigg on behalf of the community since residents bought the island in 1997. It is a partnership in which the Residents' Association elects four directors, alongside the Highland Council and the Scottish Wildlife Trust. Its subsidiaries include Eigg Electric, which supplies the island's power from renewable sources.
