OrganicLea

OrganicLea is a workers' cooperative of 17 worker-owners growing organic fruit and vegetables on a 12-acre site at Hawkwood Plant Nursery in Chingford, next to Epping Forest. It runs a weekly veg bag scheme, a farm stall, plant and compost sales, accredited growing courses, volunteering and forest school sessions, all tied to a commitment to food sovereignty.

The cooperative started small in 2001 and runs Hawkwood Community Farm on renewable electricity, delivering locally by electric milk float and bicycle trailer. Programmes for young people, families and Global Majority communities run alongside the commercial growing.
