Taranaki ReGen began as a grassroots community initiative in 2019 after farmer conversations in 2018. It runs discussion groups, farmer cohorts, farm walks and research partnerships, including a seven-year study comparing conventional and regenerative dairy, sheep and beef systems. Its 2026 programme includes organic dairy tours, a biodiversity-for-grazing farm walk and a spring research event in Hāwera.
Past events include soil food web microscope workshops and a drought resilience day on soil health and diverse pastures.
