Yamatji Marlpa Aboriginal Corporation
Native Title Representative Body for the Pilbara, Mid West, Murchison and Gascoyne
- Community and Voice
Yamatji Marlpa Aboriginal Corporation (YMAC) is the Native Title Representative Body for Traditional Owners in Western Australia's Pilbara, Mid West, Murchison and Gascoyne regions, about a third of the state. It works in native title, heritage, land and sea management and spatial services.
Its name brings together two terms: Yamatji, used in the Murchison and Gascoyne, and Marlpa, used by some Traditional Owners for the Aboriginal people of the Pilbara. YMAC has offices in Perth, Geraldton, Hedland and Broome, and supports land and sea management with several Traditional Owner groups.
