Breathe Mongolia (Agaariin Kharuul NGO in Mongolia) was founded by Mongolians whose families fell ill from winter smog. It runs citizen-hosted low-cost sensors and a bilingual public air quality platform, trains young people and journalists, and shares practical steps such as insulating homes and gers and preventing carbon monoxide poisoning.
Co-founded by Azjargal Tsogtsaikhan, Uyanga Ganbaatar, Enkhuun Byambadorj and Oyungerel Munkhbat. It trained 580+ youth from 25 schools and runs youth and environmental journalism fellowships. Its site tracks 2025 policy decisions on air quality zones and improved fuel standards, and now has full-time staff in Mongolia plus volunteers in 10+ countries.
