A national federation formed on the initiative of local herder groups to strengthen herders' own organisations and improve the legal setting for managing rangelands. Its site lists 21 pasture user associations and notes 65% of Mongolia's pastureland is degraded to some degree. In 2026 it ran herder trainings on cooperation and wool quality and co-organised the ILC rangelands learning exchange in Ulaanbaatar.
A member of the National Land Coalition of Mongolia. In August 2026 the coalition launched 'The Right to Movement: Measuring Pastoralist Land Tenure Security in Mongolia' at UNCCD COP17, a study with nearly 900 herders and land officers across all 21 aimags.
