Living Knowledge Network is a community-led national network, founded by Tagalaka man Victor Steffensen, that activates Indigenous Knowledge solutions by supporting communities to lead. It is the next chapter of Firesticks, which continues as its Cultural Fire program.
In 2026 Firesticks became the Living Knowledge Network, because the Firesticks name no longer reflected the full scope of the work. The network supports communities to manage their lands and strengthen their livelihoods by applying traditional knowledge, with Cultural Fire as the starting point. Its work spans education through Living Knowledge Place, research, resources, community wellbeing and cultural sovereignty. Firesticks was co-founded by Victor Steffensen with the late Dr George Musgrave and Dr Tommy George.
