Permatil restores springs and water catchments with village communities across Timor-Leste. Its site reports 700+ water sources restored, and a May 2026 Tatoli report says over 800. It helped bring permaculture into the national school curriculum (242 schools listed) and grew the PermaYouth movement, whose week-long camps draw 500 to 1,000 young people. In 2026 it launched Permatil Global to share its water model with Samoa and Papua New Guinea.
Founded around independence by Ego Lemos (Ramon Magsaysay awardee). Permatil publishes free tropical permaculture guidebooks, which it says have been downloaded in 162+ countries. It hosted the first International PermaYouth Convergence in October 2025. In May 2026 President Ramos-Horta backed its 2026 youth camps (Maribia in June, Viqueque in September) and the International Permaculture Youth Convergence 2026.
