Country Needs People
Growing and securing Indigenous ranger work across Australia
- Living World
- Community and Voice
Country Needs People is a national not-for-profit, born from the support of hundreds of Traditional Owners, that grows, secures and strengthens Indigenous land and sea management across Australia. It works alongside frontline Indigenous partners caring for Country and is backed by more than 120,000 Australians.
Its work is grouped as supporting, advocating and amplifying. Campaigns include Full Support for Rangers, Support NSW Rangers and opposing cuts to Northern Territory ranger funding. The site includes a map of Indigenous Ranger groups and Indigenous Protected Areas, noting there are more than 300 ranger groups in Australia, and a growing alliance of Indigenous partner organisations.
