The Detroit Black Community Food Sovereignty Network (DBCFSN) works for food sovereignty among Detroit's Black communities, linking food to environmental justice and community self-determination. It runs D-Town Farm, a seven-acre urban farm in Rouge Park, alongside youth and education programmes, the Food Warriors youth programme and the Food N Flava series. It is also building the Detroit Food Commons in the North End, a community-owned hub with kitchens, a hall and the Detroit People's Food Co-op.
Founded in 2006 when Malik Yakini gathered community members at the Black Star Community Bookstore (originally named the Detroit Black Community Food Security Network). D-Town Farm began on two acres in 2008 and grew to seven by 2010. Other programmes listed on its site include the D.I.N.E. training centre and the Congo Beehive Coalition. The network is marking its 20th anniversary in 2026.
